I use named ranges regularly and purchased Excel 2013 for the new unique count feature. Neither computer has a previous version of Office installed. I have tried this on two computers (both running Windows 7) and encountered the same error. This does not occur if the pivot table uses an unnammed range as its source. If you click yes, Excel informs you that it "Removed Records: External connections from /xl/connections.xml part (Data connection)" The pivot tables then become static and an error pops up upon double clicking them, warning that "The Connection for this Trust the source of the workbook, click Yes." Do you want us to try and recover as much as we can? If you When you go to reopen the document, you are faced with the error "We found a problem with some content in filename. ![]() ![]() Then the user creates a pivot table based on that nameĪnd adds the data to the data model. Specifically, this occurs when you start a new Excel 2013 document. The corrupt files means the user must rebuild all the pivot tables after each open. Excel will not save the document properly. I believe there may be a bug in Excel 2013 related to pivot tables that use named ranges as the sourceĪnd the new data model.
